Australian supermarket sneakily launches Apple Watch app in California


It was a small glimpse of an Australian icon on the Apple stage in San Francisco that gave it away.

As Kevin Lynch, vice president of technology for Apple, demonstrated the Apple Watch at its launch event, a logo for Woolworths, an Australian supermarket chain, flashed up on the face of the watch.

In all its green-colored and apple-shaped glory, the Woolworths Apple Watch app was launchedMashable has confirmed the app will be released on the Apple Watch at the Australian launch date, April 24

It is currently unclear what kind of app the Woolworths logo portends, but it doesn’t take a genius to suggest that shopping from your watch might be involved.
